Seeing how nice Velvet turned out, picking Gwendolyn's statue also by Yamato was a quick and easy decision. But despite coming from the same makers, this statue seems to be slightly less, compared to Velvet, in terms of quality.
Here are some pics from different angles. What I like about Gwendolyn's character design are those armor pieces on her forearms and legs. A female character with armor on is just appealing to me.
From the back you can see how the shoulders are arched to give a more feminine look.
Here's the base. Gwendolyn stands on a translucent blue saucer which is quite unique, and is detailed with some leaves and a log with a blue bird on one end. The glossy finish on the saucer makes it easy to think that it is made of glass even though it's plastic.
Here's another look on the birdie. I think this is a nice touch that gives an endearing factor.
The staff held by Gwendolyn is put into the hands by removing the lower end. This allows us to easily slide in the rest of the staff before returning the lower end.
Here's a close-up on the blue shard at the top end of the staff. Really looks similar to the red shards on Velvet's chain. Clear translucent plastic without any scratches.
Here you've got an angle where you can see how she's holding her weapon of choice. You will also see a paint job issue that I found right there on the start of the ruffles.
All the feather detail look really nice, the translucent plastic really work well with the overall look.
Here's a close-up on the small wing on her leg. The edges are smooth and clean with no excess bits.
And before I forget, her crown:
From that image, you can also see the braided bun hair style.
So to wrap things up, this statue is really pretty and nice but not as great as Yamato's Velvet. There's really just two things that's stopping this statue from being as great as Velvet: the paint job issue, and missing "cast offable" options (can be displayed in 2 ways of more by adding or removing parts of the figure). With that, I leave you with the last good photo that I have of the SIF EX Gwendolyn Statue by Yamato.
More Fig reviews please~ ^___^
